Kathua, Mar 07 (KNO): Security forces on Friday launched a massive search operation in Billawar area of Kathua district after three civilians including a child went missing.
As per details obtained by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), three civilians from Lohai Malhar area Billiwar left their homes around 8.30 pm Wednesday to attend a marriage in the Billawar area. However, 24 hours after the trio went missing, there is no clue about their whereabouts with the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Those missing have been identified as Jogesh Singh from Marhoon village, who is 35 years old, Darshan Singh from Dehota village aged 40 years and Baroon Singh from Dehota of Billawar tehsil who is 14 years old.
A police official said the incident came to light on Thursday, following which searches were launched to trace the missing individuals.
However, the police have ruled out the terror angle in the investigation so far but launched a massive search operation in the hilly belt of Kathua.
“We are looking into every possible angle, but for now, we are ruling out the terror angle. We are investigating how they went missing midway when they left with everyone else. We are also tracking their mobile numbers to get an idea about their last location,” the official said.
He said the teams of SOG and the Indian Army are currently searching the area from where they went missing—(KNO)
